My name is Mike, and this small business grew out of two things I’ve loved my entire life: working with my hands and spending time in the quiet places of Idaho’s mountains. I’ve always believed that the best things we bring into our homes should feel genuine, natural, and built with care. That belief is at the heart of everything I do.

 

Where It All Started

 

Clearwater Cabin Lighting began with a simple idea: create lighting that captures the warmth and character of a rustic cabin in the woods. Not mass-produced, not artificial — but handcrafted the way things used to be made.

Over the years I’ve spent countless hours exploring Idaho’s forests, riverbeds, and mountain country. Those trips inspired the look and feel of my lamps, from the stones I hand-select to the wood styles I’ve come to love working with. Every lamp I build carries a little of that outdoor spirit with it.

Each lamp begins as raw material — wood, stone, leather, iron accents, parchment shades — and becomes something unique through many hours of shaping, sanding, fitting, and finishing. I take pride in small details most people never notice, because I know they add up to a lamp that will last for decades.

Whether it’s a rugged lodge lamp, a western-style design with leather accents, or a clean natural stone base, I build every piece the same way: by hand, with patience and craftsmanship.

Inspired by the Outdoors

Idaho has always been my greatest source of inspiration. The Sawtooths, the Clearwater River, deep pine forests, wildlife, and the simple beauty of old cabins — all of these influence my work. My goal is to create lighting that brings a little of that peaceful, natural feeling into your home, cabin, or lodge.
